Eastcote Central, finally gets another Overhead Canopy

The second canopy was finished yesterday, all that is required now is the island platform buildings, and she is pretty much finished.

Then work begins on Hampden Tunnel!!

Locos get a good weathering....some more than others

As many of you will know, Picton Whiske locos have been going under some weathering, because lets be honest, steam locomotives didn't really look pristine back in the late 1950's and early 1960's

so here we have a collection of photos in various states. I would say the V2 is the nearest one needing overhaul, with A1 60144 not far behind!

A3 60039 'Sandwich'
A3 60077 'White Knight
V2 '60903' (with Kylchap Double Blastpipe)
A1 60144 'King's Courier'

A1s get the Proper Treatment...New Nameplates!

Recent work has been replacing the (not very good) name plates on my two A1s 60144 'King's Courier and the new A1 60130 'Kestrel'.

Bachmann print onto the plastic smoke deflector, which looks pretty cheap. So I bought proper name plates from 'Fox Transfers'.

And here they both are showing them off!

Some current pictures from Eastcote

here we see a rather dirty V2, approaching Eastcote, from the north, passing Picton Whiske Sheds

Welcome to Eastcote Central

Welcome to Eastcote Central, a fictional Mail Line Station on the Eastern Region of British Railways (1957-1964)

Eastcote Central is quite similar in purpose to York, in that lines come to Eastcote come from all over the Region, mainly from the West.

Eastcote is served by Picton Whiske Sheds. Picton Whiske hosts a variety of locomotives, and usually you will find a number of Gresley and Peppercorn Pacifics. Maybe even the odd Thompson Pacific.

In these blogs, you will see constant updates of my work on the layout, plus plenty of pictures as construction continues
